If you have spent any real time in Somnium Space, you already know the feeling. A club fills up. A new world opens. Someone drags a stranger over for a tour, and an hour later that stranger has an avatar, a couple of friends, and a reason to come back. That is the loop, in miniature. Worlds, people, and the habit of showing up.
Somnium has spent the past year paying people who make that happen. The Ambassador Program, launched in September 2025, was the first version of the idea: hosts, performers, builders, coders, and creators earning real money for work that actually grows the platform.
The missing piece was a front door as everything was managed via Discord. That front door is now open.
ambassadors.somniumspace.com is the new Somnium Space Ambassadors Portal. Sign in with Discord, apply, submit your work, attach proof, and follow it through review. Approved payments are handled within 28 days. This means no scavenger hunts through old announcement posts anymore and no guessing which channel the screenshot was supposed to go in.
What an ambassador actually is
An ambassador is not a moderator with a fancy title, and not a billboard. The role, as the Somnium team describes it, is to represent Somnium on the platform and off it: host things people want to attend, make work other people can use, and give newcomers a reason to stay.
In return, ambassadors get direct pay. Common for all ambassadors is an active life on Somnium, and a minimum Karma Level 10. Karma is the thing that is actually easy to achieve: play, make friends, add connections, like things, upload a world or a wearable, and generally be present. Somnium is explicitly trying to reward people who stick around, not accounts that appear for a payout and vanish.
As an ambassador, your primary contact at Somnium is community manager Meloz. You can also reach out to creative designer Shodah.
One portal, eight ways in
The portal is built around perks. You pick the work, you add proof, you send it. The categories on the site are Event, Stream, Normal video, Short video, Social post, Bounty, Performance, and World build.
Monthly allowances reset each month:
- Events: 4
- Streams: 8
- Videos: 8
- Social posts: 8
You can do more than the cap, but remember that only the capped slots are paid. It still makes sense to submit unpaid contributions as that all counts towards your activity level.
Club owners and event organizers are still the backbone. Host an event inside Somnium, bring people with you, and the payments scale with the crowd: $25 for 10–19 guests, $50 for 20–39, and $100 for 40 or more. The paid ceiling is four events a month. Always submit the idea to Meloz first, with a timestamp. If it is not on the calendar, it did not officially happen.
Perform. Dancers, DJs, musicians, photographers, and the rest of the stage are paid for official shows, and they are first in line when Meloz or the team is booking. The portal has its own Performance submission, so the set, the photos, and the proof live in the same place as everything else.
Stream it. Live streams on Twitch, YouTube, and similar platforms pay by the hour, based on average viewers: $10 an hour at 5–10 viewers, $15 at 11–20, and $20 at 21–50. The portal allows eight stream submissions a month.
Make a video. Long-form video and Shorts are scored on reach after 30 days. Long-form: $10 at 1,000–4,999 views, $25 at 5,000–9,999, $50 at 10,000–24,999, and $100 at 25,000 or more. Shorts: $10 at 5,000–24,999 views, $25 at 25,000–49,999, $50 at 50,000–124,999, and $100 at 125,000 or more.
Post, build, and take a bounty. Social posts are their own track, eight a month. This is the path for people who already talk about worlds, fits, and nights out, and are willing to do it with Somnium in the frame.
The bounty board is not a developers-only club. Tasks run from hosting and content to worlds, assets, and C# systems other people can drop into a project. The best of it has a path into the SDK.
World builders no longer chase a monthly open contest. That format ended after the December 2025 round, because too many entries were drive-bys. Ambassadors now pitch a world or milestone directly. If it is approved, Somnium backs the build.
How the money moves
Proof is the whole game. The portal is where that proof now goes: pick the perk, attach the evidence, and watch the review. Approved payments are handled within 28 days. Somnium’s in-game Tip Jar remains the direct route to a bank account, and the team will walk new ambassadors through setting it up. PayPal is also an option.
How to get in
- Install the client at somniumspace.com and actually play. Desktop mode exists, but the ambassador application wants PCVR and Karma Level 10.
- Join the Somnium Discord: discord.gg/somniumspace.
- Open ambassadors.somniumspace.com, connect Discord, and apply.
- Once you are in, submit work as you do it.
