The increase in building activity and the growing community are clear signs that Somnium Space is becoming the preferred platform for many. There is another measure we can look at: The number of events that are held in Somnium Space.
On Somnium Events all events are collected in one place. This excludes daily meetups and ad-hoc meetings (e.g. using Somnium Web), but every disco party, game night, workshop, late night show and exhibition is listed.
Ever since Somnium Events went live and the data is available, there is a clear increase in people using the Somnium Space platform to host their events. This trend is expected to continue.
On average we’ve seen that there are multiple events on every single day. If we’d add all the daily meetups and ad-hoc meetings, the numbers would be even higher.
Significance
The observed trend tells us that the platform is maturing and attracting more and more people who find Somnium the ideal platform for their event. One important aspect to keep in mind here is that many of these events are taking place in VR.
Experiences in an immersive 3D environment are fundamentally different than joining something in 2D on your screen. While Somnium allows people to join in various ways – you can even host an event in Somnium Web, allowing people to join from any device using a simple URL – VR is the preferred mode.
The combination of immersive quality and the open, persistent platform that allows people to unleash and demonstrate their creativity, socialize and do business, is unique in the Metaverse.
WORLDs
An important factor in the acceleration is the availability of Somnium WORLDs. These are NFTs that allow the community to create custom immersive experiences and plug them into Somnium Space.
We have seen new, elaborate worlds appear over the last couple of months. They are portals to new universes where people can party, play games, and much more. They are part of the attraction. You never know what new worlds you are going to find on your summer evening stroll through the Somnium landscape.
