For all Metaverse enthusiasts, here’s a tip: Check out this 50+ minute long episode of ‘Engineering the Future (Season 2)’ on Curiosity Stream. It focuses on the Metaverse and there is a prominent spot for Artur Sychov, founder and CEO of Somnium Space.
Curiosity Stream is an American media company and subscription video streaming service that offers documentary programming including films, series, and TV shows. It was launched in 2015 by the founder of the Discovery Channel, John S. Hendricks

Engineering the future focuses on various companies and initiatives that all work on bringing the Metaverse closer. We get introduced to Somnium Space, Roblox, Teslasuit, Quixel, Infinadeck, Manus; they explain what they’re working on, being it omnidirectional treadmills, haptic feedback suits, 3D scanning technologies or immersive VR worlds.
It is clear that Somnium Space has the overriding vision and the current platform where the individual technologies find their application. Take Teslasuit for example, which is already usable inside VR in Somnium Space and gives the wearer unparalleled feedback/touch sensations. Technology for various other senses will follow, for sure, as well as gloves and omnidirectional treadmills which will give the user great freedom of movement.
Artur consistently talks about the (importance of the) immersive quality. And immersive quality is why Somnium has become the preferred platform for many. Make people forget that they are in a virtual space, and our reality will be truly multi-layered, a feeling you will never get as long as you have to stare at a flat screen or run around in some sort of Lego like universe.
Many pieces of the puzzle still need to be solved, but the Metaverse is here and will become more advanced and elaborate in the years to come.
With Somnium Space at the forefront.
