In a highly anticipated live session on Somnium Space’s Discord server, Artur Sychov, the Founder and CEO of Somnium Space, revealed the pricing details for the eight unique versions of the much-awaited Somnium VR1 headset. Following the recent Medium article announcing the different models, this session answered the burning question on everyone’s mind: the cost of these groundbreaking headsets.

The VR1 lineup is designed to cater to every level of VR enthusiast, from casual explorers to hardcore aficionados, though it is clear that the range predominantly appeals to those with a passion for high-quality VR experiences and the budget to match. The base (classic) model, while stripped of advanced features like eye tracking, hand tracking, and mixed reality cameras, still boasts the same exceptional quality, modularity, brightness, clarity, field of view, and expansive sweet spot as the other versions. The remaining models in the lineup provide various combinations of these additional features, allowing users to choose the perfect fit for their needs and interests.
Ordering process
Somnium Space has begun reaching out to VR1 reservation holders via email, following the sequence of their reservation dates. Initially, the number of emails sent each day will be limited, but this will steadily increase as the process continues. These emails will provide reservation holders with the necessary information to purchase their preferred version(s) of the VR1 headset. While there is no set deadline for making a purchase, the headsets will be shipped based on the order in which purchases are made. Shipment is expected to commence in July.
