In this ‘World Tour’ series we will follow Francesco Vincenti, Business Development and Partnership Manager at Somnium Space, as he travels the world and submerges into cultures, meets interesting people, tastes exotic foods, but first and foremost builds the community and spreads the news about Somnium Space.
‘Barcelona is amazing’, Francesco proclaims. I am fortunate to catch him while he is at Barcelona airport, waiting for his flight back to Prague. He has just spent a week in this vibrant city and his luggage is full of experiences.
‘It’s the weather, the food, the laid back people who value the finer things in life’, he continues. ‘Spending one week in Barcelona has really taught me a thing or two’.
Meetup at the Cardano Hotel
The main meetup was at the Cardano Hotel where Francesco gave a presentation about the Somnium Space and Authencity platforms.
What is special about this hotel is that it is the first business in the world to accept ADA. They truly strive to promote interoperability between Cardano and other blockchains. Actually, they believe so much in the more equal and honest systems that Cardano is developing that they decided to rebrand their hotel “Cardano Boutique Hotel Ginebra”.
From Somnium Space’s prespective their couldn’t be a more suitable venue for the meetup.

What Else Did Francesco Do?
‘Eat good food and enjoy the amazing weather’, Francesco replies when I ask him. That was liquid envy injected right into my veins.
‘But not just that. I met amazing people’, he adds.
The world tour is a way for Somnium Space to showcase its platform and vision to the world and build valuable connections. It is an opportunity to connect with people who are passionate about VR and its potential. By meeting with individuals and companies from different parts of the world, Somnium Space will be able to create new partnerships, collaborations, and opportunities to grow its community.
Aside from the business side of the trip, Francesco got to experience the rich culture and lifestyle of Barcelona. Barcelona is a city full of life, and Francesco was able to experience its vibrant atmosphere first-hand. From the stunning Sagrada Familia to the bustling Las Ramblas, Barcelona is a city that never sleeps. It is a city that combines history, art, and modernity in a unique way.
Understanding this, and understanding the people, is important and directly relates to how Somnium Space as a VR platform can fit in and provide solutions that are will be truly beneficial for people in this and other parts of the world.
VR Applications
The citizens of Somnium Space already know its potential, but to spread the news to people outside of the community is important. The applications for the platform are sheer limitless.
It is not just a place to socialize and play games, although these are important aspects. Many community members immerse themselves daily to meet with fellow citizens and have a good time. But there is so much more: Entertainment, business, education, wellness, psychology, the list goes on and on. There is hardly any field where VR and Somnium Space in particular couldn’t play a major role.
