“A place for rare exotic animals and more!”

Throughout Somnium Space wonderful and exciting things seem to emerge with the rising sun of each morning. In recent news, the White Oak Conservatory on parcel 4439 has just opened it’s door to the Somnium Community bringing enrichment and wonder to audiences from all around. An addition to Wooferblast’s Museum of Mystery and Folklore, the White Oak Conservatory stands to compliment and expand upon the topic of the mysterious and wonderful. Creating an added layer of interest to the Metaverse platform.

To create a world within a world is immersion at it’s finest, and enough to pique the interests of most. We were intrigued by the grand opening of this conservatory, and had the honor of sitting down with the founder himself. The mastermind, shall we say, of this ambitious multi exhibit White Oak Conservatory.

The day was January 26th, 2023, and Wooferblast kindly sat down with us to discuss the ins and outs of the White Oak Conservatory. Some of you may have heard of Wooferblast for his already amazing contributions to Somnium Space, and here he is yet again, delivering more unique perspective and fun for the Somnium Community. Readers, I give you a deep dive into the White Oak Conservatory of Somnium Space.

“Tell our readers a little about your conservatory,”

“I look at White Oak Conservatory as a companion to my Museum Of Mystery And Folklore. In the museum, I try to create an imaginary history for Somnium Space by presenting fictitious folklore and strange objects that our “archaeologists” have found in Somnium Space.

The displays in the museum are objects (not living things) but in the conservatory I want to display imaginary plants and animals. The whole idea behind the museum and the conservatory is to bring a little bit of wonder and mystery to Somnium Space. I think we get too carried away with the technicalities of building flashy NFTs and commercial business spaces with their giant logos. This is all fine for other builders, but it’s not something I am interested in. I would like to see Somnium Space become more of a wonderland full of fun places to hang out and fun things to do.

I will be changing the displays in the conservatory now and then so that we always have something new to see.”

“What inspired you to create the conservatory?”

“It was winter in Somnium Space and everything was snowy and dark. The original idea for the conservatory was to create a cheerful place where users could come in out of the snow and enjoy a green space full of plants. Maybe a fountain and a place to sit.”

“What’s your favorite exhibit?”

“Right now, I am displaying imaginary plants and animals that have evolved and adjusted to extreme living conditions. There are fish who have the ability to eat garbage and trees that have the ability to camouflage themselves and shape-shift in order to outsmart foresters who want to cut them down.

I think my favorite display right now is the Tortura Fungus Cluster, discovered by Professor Abbie Tortura in 2022. This is a spherical mass of fungi that have gathered together in order to survive harsh chemicals and pollution. A number of fungi seem to have sacrificed themselves so that the cluster is encased in a hard shell made up of dead fungi, and it is this hard outer shell that protects the fungi inside. Amazingly, the cluster appears to be evolving quickly and has developed the ability to communicate with the outside world. It is are calling out to Professor Tortura!”

“What kind of future do you see for White Oak?”

“I want to change exhibits often and keep things interesting. As I said before, I just want to bring a little bit of mystery and wonder to Somnium Space.”

Astounding! Another accomplishment indeed for this Somnium native, and one to note for his magnificent contributions of culture, the mysterious, the whimsical, and depth he’s added to the Somnium Space scene. While other’s focus on the show stopping and glamorous builds, Wooferblast, is happy put his efforts towards the details and storytelling. Though it may seem simplistic, these endeavors are no easy task and should be applauded for the venture. One can truly appreciate his authenticity towards his projects, and the ability to truly delve within his own imagination to add such texture to this canvas we call Somnium.

Though it’s a good idea to read about things and what is transpiring in Somnium Space, it is even better an idea to experience this exciting unfolding for you yourself. Immerse your self in the conservation of the imaginary and mystical living organisms within parcel 4439. Adventure awaits to excite the senses and enrich the mind.
