A few days ago, Somnium Space, the open, persistent VR world announced when the highly anticipated Secondary Land Offering (SLO) will take place. The SLO follows the Initial Land Offering (ILO), in October last year, and the 10-week Road to Secondary Land Offering (Road to SLO) campaign, which finished a few days ago on May 24th.
Somnium Space is a continuous, persistent VR world that comprises a total of 5000 VR land parcels, which come in three different sizes: Small, Medium and XLarge. Early backers obtained a number of those and during the ILO and Road to SLO campaigns many more parcels changed hands. The current state is that 1639 parcels have been sold. The remaining parcels, 3361, remain in Somnium’s hands for now, but the expectation is that all those parcels will be available for the SLO.
Somnium Space released a new map during Road to SLO. On this map you can easily see the distribution of the virtual land parcels. Colored parcels have been sold, grey parcels are still in the hands of the company and will be up for sale during the SLO.
Secondary Land Offering in October 2020!
The Road to SLO campaign was highly successful. The total amount spent after 10 weeks of Road to SLO landed on 2327 ETH (more than USD 450.000). This translates to roughly 6 ETH per parcel sold.
If Road to SLO is an indication of what’s to come, then the Secondary Land Offering will without doubt see a high participation from both existing and new users.

Somnium Space also announced a treasure hunt, which will kick off on June 6th, with prizes worth $5000.
